Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist) ensures that user‑generated content complies with platform policies, legal standards, and community expectations. Working remotely, you will protect the online environment from harmful material while supporting a respectful user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported text, images, and video content, focusing on high‑priority queues and edge cases.
• Monitor daily queues to detect emerging abuse patterns and promptly escalate to the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool performance and suggest workflow improvements.
• Maintain a minimum 95% accuracy rate on moderation decisions.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure policy consistency.
• Investigate removal or suspension cases and make fair reinstatement determinations.
• Respond to “red alert” situations such as graphic live streams or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or community management for a major tech/social media platform.
• Strong emotional resilience and proven strategies for handling disturbing content.
• Deep understanding of regional, cultural, and historical nuances.
• Ability to differentiate hate speech from protected political speech and extremist content from documentary material.
• Track record of processing 80‑100+ content pieces per hour while maintaining quality metrics.

Required skills

• Proficiency with moderation tools such as Hive, Besedo, and Salesforce.
• Competence in Google Workspace.
