Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Sustainable Development Group

About the role

HBD Príncipe is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy of its sustainable development and ecotourism group. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for ensuring financial health, compliance, and strategic growth across operations in São Tomé and Príncipe and Portugal.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting, reporting, budgeting, treasury, tax, and financial control activities.
• Design financing structures and investment strategies, and develop robust financial models.
• Ensure full compliance with legal, tax, and governance requirements.
• Guide internal audits, external reporting, and support strategic decision‑making with accurate data.
• Manage institutional and supplier relationships in both countries.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements for the CEO, Board of Directors, and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management or Tax.
• Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience, preferably in a group or shared‑services environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate governance.
