Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme. The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation services, focusing on solutions that leverage Copernicus data to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Observation services and applications using Copernicus data and products.
• Support policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and private‑sector engagement within the Africa‑EU space ecosystem.
• Collaborate with African institutions to promote user uptake of EO solutions in early‑warning, climate, agriculture, water and biodiversity sectors.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to project partners and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services, remote sensing or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services, preferably with Copernicus data.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.
• Experience working with African institutions and promoting user uptake is a plus.
