Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

About the role

RemoteRemote is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the core of its HR platform. You will join a cross‑functional engineering team that creates tools, APIs and integrations using Elixir, Phoenix and PostgreSQL, while working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services in Elixir and Phoenix.
• Build and expose APIs and integrations for product features.
• Collaborate with frontend, SRE and QA engineers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Drive automation and CI/CD pipelines for frequent deployments on AWS.
• Lead development efforts within the assigned vertical, ensuring reliability and scalability.

Required profile

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Experience designing or adopting automation/workflow systems and iterating on them.
• Ability to think in systems: define specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the quality loop.
• Self‑organized work style with comfort in an asynchronous, remote environment.
